The Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences and ICRICT convened the high-level conference “Tax Justice and Solidarity: Towards an Inclusive and Sustainable Common Home” at the Vatican, bringing together political leaders—including Lula da Silva, Pedro Sánchez and Thabo Mbeki—alongside prominent economists and advocates such as Joseph Stiglitz, Jayati Ghosh and Gabriel Zucman. The event framed tax justice as both an economic necessity and a moral and democratic imperative, calling for stronger international cooperation to ensure that multinational corporations and the ultra-wealthy pay their fair share, curb the concentration of economic and political power, and mobilize resources for equality, public services and climate action.
