The World Bank Group Office of Executive Director EDS25, in partnership with the Intergovernmental Group of Twenty-Four (G-24) and the Independent Commission for the Reform of International Corporate Taxation (ICRICT), convened a dialogue of ministers, senior government officials, experts, and representatives of think tanks and global economic governance organizations during the 2024 IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings to a high-level panel that aims to:
- Discuss the role of Emerging Market and Developing Economies (EMDEs) in these new processes of international tax reform.
- Identify opportunities and challenges for EMDEs, particularly in terms of expanding (and safeguarding) their taxing rights.
- Debate the potential outcomes of these processes and how developing countries can best prepare to secure results that most effectively represent their interests.
