ICRICT statement on the UN Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation — Bangkok, October
2026
On the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings in Bangkok, ICRICT, the International Capital Tax Commission, launched a call for all countries to take their seat at the table when negotiations on the UN Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation resume in Nairobi on 30 November.
The negotiations have reached their halfway point, and what is settled in the coming months will shape the international tax architecture for decades. Yet some governments are walking away or stalling. ICRICT warns that rich countries are invoking the risk of “double taxation” to defend rules that let multinationals and the super-rich pay little or nothing.
